FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is there an entrance test?
We do not run a single sit-down exam. Admissions considers recent school reports, an interview
(academic & pastoral), and—where relevant—an English level check for placement. Some applicants
may complete subject diagnostics to ensure the right starting point.
Do I need rugby experience?
No. PSA uses a four-level pathway (L1–L4) from beginner to high-performance.
Placement is based on readiness, with coaching across movement quality, core skills, game IQ,
strength & conditioning, and leadership.
Can I join mid-year?
Main entry is September (IGCSE & A-Levels). A Pre-English Program (April–September)
provides an on-ramp for students strengthening academic English before September intake. Rolling consideration is
possible while places remain.
Are scholarships available?
Yes. PSA offers rugby scholarships (partial or full tuition) for committed, coachable student-athletes with strong conduct
and academic progress. Awards are reviewed annually. The Club Team Trust Fund also supports approved
education and pathway costs during PSA and toward next-step expenses.
Will sport affect academics?
Training is timetabled around Cambridge IGCSE & A-Levels. Students have supervised study,
teacher support for planned travel, and structured recovery so academics remain the priority while performance develops
sustainably.
